NVidia Maximus
NVidia Maximus allows you to link up a Quadro card for graphics, and a Tesla card for data processing. This allows programs to unload intensive data processing operations off of the CPU that are better suited to the parallel nature of the GPU.
3DS Max
3DS Max ActiveShade takes advantage of this technology so that you can view real time renders while you work. If you’re going to AU, you should be able to see it in action there. Really though, ActiveShade is just the beginning of what Maximus could be used for and we’re hoping that Autodesk will develop some great products that use it in the future. For an amazing demo of what Maximus can do in Maya, watch this:
