Event Review: 3DR Drone Technology Demonstrations
Drone technology is ever evolving and improving the way we complete certain tasks. There is a new product on the market that works with drone technology to improve and streamline building and construction. Imagine being able to survey, scan and inspect your job site in mere minutes. With 3DR’s Site Scan, you can do just that.
Drone Technology in Action
CAD Masters recently hosted four events demonstrating the 3DR drones and presenting a case study with some previously gathered data at the Oakland Global Trade and Logistics Center. Only two events were originally scheduled, but we quickly expanded to four based on the high level of interest. All four events were well attended and participants asked a lot of great questions to help them determine if the technology is a right fit for their firm.
Facilitators for the events included Michelle Self, P.E. and Brian Lee from CAD Masters as well as Eric Bayer, Lauren Berk, and Jeremiah Johnson from 3DR. After the drone flight demo, attendees returned to our training room to learn about the workflows and how to analyze the resulting data. The technology integrates with Autodesk software by generating common Autodesk file formats.
Many of the attendees expressed interest in purchasing and using the drone and software and commented on the value of the presentation. Given the overwhelming success of these events, we are planning a fifth event, to take place on Wednesday, November 2nd from 1:00 to 4:30 pm in our Walnut Creek office.
