Subassembly Composer – Official Release

The Civil 3D 2012 Subassembly Composer was officially released today and has been heavily upgraded from its Autodesk Labs form.  For Civil 3D users, this add-on has been generating a lot of talk and excitement in the community.

If you’re looking for the download for the Subassembly Composer, you will need to download it from the Autodesk Subscription Center.  If you’re having difficulties getting into the Subscription Center, see our guide on accessing your subscription benefits.

Remember, if you are installing the actual Subassembly Composer itself, then you do not need to install the Subassembly Composer Support Pack.  The Support Pack is like an Object Enabler for Subassembly Composer entities.

Finally, as a quick hint when using the Subassembly Composer, CTRL+mouse wheel will zoom in and out.  This shortcut will be very useful as your subassemblies grow big, but hopefully not unwieldy.
